Job Title: Present Product Engineer – Gas Systems Location: Qingdao, China Department: Engineering Reports To: Engineering Director (United States-based) Job Summary: We are seeking a hands-on Present Product Engineer to support gas valve and system component programs for the Chinese market. This role is ideal for an engineer with 5–10 years of experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a passion for sustaining and improving product performance. The engineer will be responsible for maintaining lab operations, conducting testing and analysis, supporting agency compliance, and collaborating with cross-regional teams, including travel to the U.S. and Thailand. Key Responsibilities: 61 Support gas valve and gas system component programs for the Chinese market. 61 Manage the day-to-day operations of the Qingdao engineering lab, including equipment maintenance and calibration. 61 Perform product testing and generate detailed technical reports. 61 Utilize Minitab for statistical analysis and design of experiments. 61 Create and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) using Windchill. 61 Assist with agency compliance testing and documentation. 61 Recommend design improvements based on test results and field feedback. 61 Collaborate with VA/VE teams to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities. 61 Support Present Product Engineering initiatives at the Thailand facility as needed. 61 Coordinate with a U.S.-based manager; participate in extended training trips to the United States (multiple weeks, several times per year). 61 Use Creo for basic CAD tasks—expertise not required but functional familiarity expected. 61 Must be able to conduct design of experiment studies and control of variation studies. 61 Communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal, with global team members. Qualifications: 61 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 61 Master’s degree is a plus. 61 5–10 years of relevant experience in product engineering, preferably in gas appliances or systems. 61 Hands-on lab testing experience required. 61 Proficient in Minitab for statistical analysis. 61 Experience with Creo and Windchill. 61 Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 61 Fluent in English; able to write detailed technical reports. 61 Willing and able to travel internationally, including extended stays in the United States and visits to Thailand. 61 Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across time zones and cultures. Preferred: 61 Experience with agency compliance standards for gas products. 61 Familiarity with VA/VE methodologies. 61 Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma methodologies
