- Make Sample size patterns until the garment FIT is approved.
Discuss design specifications with Local RU tech/designers, and convert their original models of garments into patterns of separate parts that can be laid out on a length of fabric.
- Draw details on outlined parts to indicate where parts are to be joined, as well as the positions of pleats, pockets, buttonholes, and other features, using computers or drafting instruments and sewing instructions.
- Draw guide lines or markings on materials or workpieces using patterns or other references.
- Create a master pattern & do grading for each size within a range of garment sizes, using charts, drafting instruments, and computers.
- Trace outlines of paper onto cardboard patterns, and cut patterns into parts to make templates.
- Organize & manage the sample size patterns.
- Participate in the trial discussion with the sample fitting, keep a good record of the recommendations of comments given & implement the same in patterns for the final desired output.
- Determine the best layout of pattern pieces to minimize waste of material, and mark fabric accordingly.
- Mark samples and finished patterns with information such as garment size, section, style & identification.
- Compute dimensions of patterns according to sizes, shrinkage/sewing allowance/considering stretching of material.
- Examine sketches, sample details, and design specifications to determine quantities, shapes, and sizes of pattern parts, and to determine the amount of material or fabric required to make a product.
- Add, review and evaluate carefully the initial consumption tech pack and ensure all fabric and trims parameters are updated in the consumption document.
- Directly responsible to update addition/elimination of the fabric and trims at the stage of fabric booking, trims booking, after order confirmation and after FIT approval.
- Responsible for the final tech pack document & communication related to the patterns, markers & Tech pack document.
- Knowledge in Gerber Pattern Making Software is an added advantage.
- Knowledge in written English communication is important for this position as this positon involves international communication.
