Job Description: ? conduct CAP survey at shipyard; ? conduct ship condition inspection to existing ships at yard, port, anchorage, etc. ? conduct on/off hire inspection ? conduct pre-purchase inspection ? conduct shipyard audit/inspection on buyer’s behalf ? conduct Marine Warrantee Survey (load-in, load-out) ? prepare survey/inspection report and close all comments from the client. ? support Marketing activity by visiting ship managers/owners, presenting BV CAP service; ? other technical support as required (IHM, N&V test, new building supervision, etc.); ? assist to collect outstanding payment after job completion; ? support Local Service Line Leaders deliver assurance and inspection projects; ? support sales and marketing, business and new service line development; and ? compliance with the requirements of the BVS QHSE management system.
Requirements: As a minimum we would expect the successful candidate to meet the following requirements: ? over 5 years relevant work experience; ? sailing experience/ship’s superintendent or Class surveyor for ships in service, or repair yard manager experience is preferable. ? familiarity with statutory and classification society rules; ? familiarity with marine equipment and system commissioning; and ? good communication skills, competence in written and spoken English; ? self-motivated with willingness to work as part of a team, learn and take risks; ? pro-active in terms of developing competence, problem solving and proposing solutions; ? capable of problem solving and proposing solutions; and ? ability to work efficiency to deadlines, under pressure and in situations of uncertainty. The following would be looked upon favourably ? familiarity with alternative fuels and systems on board ships, FSRU, FLNG, FPSO etc.
