In our High School, we offer a combination of American Common core and IGCSE/ AP/ A Level curricula. As our students are English Language Learners, our High School teachers need to ‘wear two hats’. That is, not only do we require our high school teachers to be experts in their respective disciplines, but also to be teachers of the English language, as each discipline will have its own vocabulary and unique demands on students’ abilities.
1. At least bachelors degree level qualification in history or a similar discipline. 2. PGCE or equivalent, i.e. qualified to practice as a licensed teacher in their home country. 3. Experience of teaching students doing Cambridge IGCSE, A level, IB, AP or similar board is desirable. Experience teaching in the US schools will be an added advantage. 4. A high level of English language proficiency, (nearly native speaker is preferred) of English. Experience of working abroad is desirable preferably with second language speakers.
