Mission Your mission is to drive and achieve all Purchasing Objectives for the assigned portfolio Your role as a Buyer is both strategic & operational, taking care of sourcing, project deliverables, operational and aftermarket maintenance activities
Responsibilities 1. Lead cross-functional team to define and develop segment purchasing strategies. 2. Lead cross-functional team to make supplier selection and negotiate agreements. 3. Secure overall good supplier relationship through conducting business review meetings regularly. 4. Close monitoring of supplier performance and take corrective actions where needed. 5. Work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, to secure the project deliveries on QDCF for both start-up projects and maintenance projects. 6. Drive continuously on cost improvement activities, with good knowledge of UD trucks Production System. Generate cost savings through creativities and cross functional workshops, including engineering, logistics and plant. 7. Drive and achieve the target on MCE/cost saving per truck, Delivery Precision, Contract Coverage, Local Content Requirements. 8. Support to improve the customer focus by jointly solving the quality issues, improve PPM/QPM and QJ lead time. 9. Closely monitor market developments, trends and the best practices available in the market
Competences required - Lead cross-functional team to define and develop segment purchasing strategies. - Negotiate supplier agreements and commercial issues. - Cost analysis skills, be the expert in the assigned commodities on component cost management. - Make and recommend the best business case - Good knowledge on total cost ownership, including logistics and overall supply chain. - Project management skills - Coordinate and drive supplier management meetings. - Act as supplier relationship host. - Entrepreneur spirit.
