Reporting to the Category Director, you will take responsibility for leading and developing the QC team, coaching and supervising team members on their work to increase the efficiency of Quality Control activities, you will also take responsibility for doing product analysis for new items, inline items (production), valuable items and QC defect items or any other potential quality issues; you will also take charge of follow up/monitor QE Roll-out project and lead the deployment of a more disciplined skip inspection process, leading to increased efficiency and profitability.
Job Responsibilities 1. Review & approve QCI inspection schedule every day and make necessary adjustment in order to minimize the cost and increase efficiency, monitor inspector movements and audit inspection effectiveness 2. Coordinate with vendors / POM coordinators / Sourcing merchandisers on final disposition for rejected lots or those with questionable results and ensure accuracy of inspection summary reports 3. Review and ensure that inspection aids, suppliers manual, best practice manual (reference samples, specifications, Purchase Order info) are available and adequate for inspectors to conduct inspection effectively Identify problems in early stage of the production process and provide solutions 4. Manage QCI performance: review QCI daily report every day and give necessary instruction / suggestion, and organize training to QCIs when necessary 5. Conduct analysis of failures encountered during pre-production evaluations / inspections / end-use and follow-up corrective action implementation. 6. Vendor performance analysis and CAPs (regular vendor visit and meeting, ask for CAPs and follow up) quality system check and follow up(IQC, IPQC, and FQC etc.), LEAN management, and provide technical assistance to the factories to improve the general quality level 7. Work closely with compliance team to define sample evaluation testing guideline managing risk and speed 8. Visit & travel to the vendors/factories based on the company inspection schedule and frequently based on QE need 9. Partner with PD and Sourcing Merchandisers along with BU and vendors to ensure design controls, risk management and conduct root cause analysis and propose corrective action plans for design failures/challenges. 10. Utilize Quality Engineering principles and problem-solving skills to develop and optimize products/processes that are aligned with the overall Quality and Business vision. 11. Individual debriefings: you are required to conduct one meeting every two months (minimum), including: likes/dislikes, priorities follow-up, KPIs comments, P&L comments (if any), team ranking (if any), trainings follow-up (if any) 12. Individual appraisals : you are required to conduct one meeting every year (minimum), using standard template 13. Team meetings : you are required to conduct one meeting every quarter (minimum), including: strategies follow-up, KPIs review, P&L review, VPR follow-up + team activity (to be validated in-advance) 14. Potential : you are required to guarantee detailed career & training plan (to be validated in-advance) 15. Succession : you are required to guarantee updated succession plan
