Company Overview:
We are a food service supply company with a diverse product line of over 6,000 SKUs, and we plan to add over 1,000 more SKUs by the end of the year. Our company is focused on providing high-quality, innovative products to our primarily US-based customers. We are currently seeking a procurement specialist to join our team and play an integral role in our product development efforts and growth.
Job Responsibilities:
- Source New Products and Vendors Conduct market research to identify new products and vendors that fit the company's needs.
- Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, pricing, and quality. Present new product development plans to internal teams for approval and to identify product needs and specifications.
- Validate product samples for quality. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and finalize deals for new products and vendors.
- Vendor Management: Monitor vendor performance and maintain positive relationships with existing vendors. Develop and maintain supplier scorecards to track vendor performance and compliance.
- Manage vendor contracts and agreements, including renewals and amendments. Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Product Onboarding: Coordinate with internal teams to ensure the successful onboarding of new products. Create product specifications and requirements documents. Ensure new products meet quality standards and are in compliance with regulations.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities. Use internal data and project management tools to track purchase orders, invoices, and vendor performance. Accurately enter product and vendor data into the database.
- Budget Management: Manage procurement budgets and ensure purchases are within budgetary guidelines. Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate better pricing with vendors. Provide regular reports on procurement spending and savings.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve procurement processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices. Participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.

- Organizational skills: Ability to manage procurement activities, contracts, and vendor relationships effectively. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to ensure that procurement processes run smoothly.
- Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify and solve problems related to procurement processes, vendor performance, and product quality.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues.
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or related field
- Minimum of 3 of experience in procurement, international trade, or related field
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Technologically proficient and a quick learner
