JOB DESCRIPTION ROLE: Business Development Manager LOCATION: Shanghai or Shenzhen TYPE: An in person role, in a flexible, international environment
ABOUT THE JOB Outform is one of the world’s leading retail innovation agencies, creating interactive retail solutions, as well as traditional fixtures and fittings for some of the world’s biggest retail brands. We have been producing our solutions in China for almost 20 years, and have recently broken into the APAC market, landing projects in China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, and India. We are now looking for a candidate based in Shanghai with a well developed network of brands, to build new business for the company– with a focus on growing our footprint in China and wider APAC. This candidate will be highly self-motivated, focused and strategic. They should have a strong network in the retail industry – with a particular focus on fashion, sportswear, luxury, or beauty. The candidate will receive support with lead generation activities and targeted marketing from the APAC HQ in Shanghai. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Identify partnership opportunities in China and wider APAC 2. Develop new relationships in an effort to grow business and help the company expand 3. Seek out the appropriate contacts in organizations 4. Generate leads and cold call prospective customers 5. Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone 7. Understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these 8. Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture 9. Setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business 10. Process leads, and develop them into opportunities QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Have a deep understanding of the retail market in APAC 2. Have 3 years business development experience in retail space build and design, popup stores, exhibition booths, shopper experience solution or fixtures and fittings 3.Have a pool of existing clients - in cosmetics, luxury, fashion, or home & lifestyle verticals 4. Understand the process from design to manufacture – with some understanding of the technical process of production. 4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills 5. Proven knowledge and execution of successful development strategies 6. Focused and goal-oriented 7. College degree or equivalent experience 8. Conversational English necessary.
