JOB PURPOSE In this position, the controller will be the change agent and responsible for finance and accounting function. She/he will be responsible for establishing policies and procedures, maintaining a good internal control environment, and ensuring the financial statements are generated in accordance with local and US GAAP. She/he would lead the finance team, develop and motivate the team and to promote a culture/environment of excellence and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/Areas of Accountability: 1. Oversee accounting, planning, forecasting and analysis of the business units in operation. 2. Be responsible for accounting and G/L, invoicing, payable and disbursements, intercompany charges and reconciliation, monthly and quarter-end reporting and analysis, fixed assets, direct and indirect tax filing and remittances, handling external audits and reporting, and reconciliation of management reports to statutory reports. 3. Provide leadership to finance team including share services, to develop and supervise the team through training, coaching, motivating and leading by example, and to ensure a rewarding and challenging working environment for the team members. Review practice and implement improvements to ensure compliance with Husky and local requirements, to establish a strong process with good controls and good business practices. 4. Work with different business functions to improve the finance and company efficiency. Continuously look for and identify the value-added opportunity brought by finance to the business, develop plan and implement to realize the opportunities. 5. Work closely with peers in other countries or regions, to ensure global alignment and best practice sharing. Undertake systems or special projects.
REQUIREMENTS: 1.Bachelor degree in accounting/finance and a recognized professional finance/accounting designation or MBA is preferred. 2.10+ years’ experience in finance/accounting management position in a Multi-National Company (MNC) 3.Working experience in North Asia, with good understanding of North Asia tax, Customs, foreign exchange and administrative regulations and procedures 4.Strong accounting (US GAAP and Chinese GAAP) knowledge, analytical skills and project management skills 5.Experience in managing / establishing / launching Share Services initiatives is plus 6.Demonstrate experience of leading a high performing team 7.Fluency in English and Mandarin
