MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To develop new and improved processes and product performances in the field of responsibility.
- Be the prime technical resource and provide technical direction within agreed R&T projects.
- To carry out patent and literature searches in a regular and systematic manner to ensure Autoneum is up to date with current developments in the area of responsibility.
- Provide ideas and input to help establish gate 0 proposals.
- Ensure thorough documentation and appropriate communication of project work.
- To build and maintain relationships with universities and institutes.
- To build a network of internal and external contacts focused on delivering innovation.
- To support the commercial introduction of new materials, processes and functions with related testing/simulation methods within CBU, DEC and Operations teams.
- Potentially participate in Expert Network in area of responsibility
- To ensure all work complies with relevant H&S policies and procedures.
- To ensure working area is maintained in a satisfactory condition – 5S standard expected.
- Other related work from the line manager.
MAIN QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional Experience:
- Educational background in at least one relevant core competence.
- An organized individual with logical, hands on and practical approach.
- The ability to prioritize workload with a flexible approach to work is required.
- Knowledge of Automotive quality standards would be a plus.
Education and professional qualifications
- PhD degree in relevant engineering, materials science, chemical, composite materials, or plastics/metals technologies.
- Master degree in related areas with 2+ years relevant experience
- Bachelor degree in related areas with 5+ years relevant experience
Social skills:
- Good verbal and written communication skills are preferable with the ability to persuade others.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- The ability to build and develop formal and informal networks in and out-side the company.
- Comfortable and effective challenging and motivating people to perform.
- Must be an excellent problem solver.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Other languages, German or French an advantage
Authorized responsibilities
- Ordering Material/SW purchasing according to project or team needs Decisions on direction of work to be taken in discussion with the R&T Team Leader.
- Must be willing to travel and communicate.
o Travel regularly within China.
o Must be prepared to communicate with colleagues globally outside of regular working hours.
