Responsibilities: - Calculation and confirmation of torsional vibrations in shafting of ship propulsion systems (engine – shafts – propeller, including PTO, ice class, and other complex TVCs) and offering design improvement recommendations with ship designers/SYs and licensees for potential projects from sales team and ongoing projects from operation. - Review and confirm torsional vibration calculations (TVC) made by engine factories or shipyards, including reviewing and officially approving jack-up test/CS-deflection results/shaft bearings load measurements. - Support shipyards/ship designers for engine room structure vibration and 2nd order vibration related simulations. - According to R&D and Operation needs, conduct TV-measurements and engine structure vibration measurements during ship sea trial or in service. - Training and support to customers about our inhouse TVC software program. - FEM-Analysis of engine welded structures Requirements: - BSc/MSc degree in mechanical engineering - Experienced in torsional vibration calculations and vibration measurements. - Experienced in ship propulsion system design. - Experience in FEM-Analysis - Fluent in speaking and writing in Chinese and English - Good planning skills
