Objective: Working as customer support scientist in Powder Business Technology team, to develop and maintain cost effective, high quality products for our customers which can be manufactured efficiently in Operations by understanding our formulating practices, customer specifications and test methods, working with Operations to transfer products smoothly into production and following our quality procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
Core Responsibilities: - Understand and live by Axalta’s core operating principles of EHS, ethics, people treatment and quality.
- Develop new product according to customer requirement and obtain customer approval with efficient communication.
- Manage and monitor the project progress as project leader following internal process. Report and communicate project status to local and global organizations in time.
- Qualify second source of raw materials.
- Support on product localization.
- Maintain recipes in TIPS database.
- Have knowledge to develop product to match customer spec with good workability and efficiency.
- Need to understand the major customer concerns regarding Axalta products/technology in the focused industries.
- Responsible for finding suitable rework routes for distressed inventory or other non-productive inventory.
- Support line trials of new product launches at customer sites as required.
- Lead or take active role in problem solving of customer issues using appropriate methodology.
- Provide training to lab technician on new chemistry, application and test methods.
Key Job Requirements: - Major in polymer chemistry, chemical engineering or material science.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in powder industry.
- Good communication skill and desire to seek inputs across organizations.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Words.
- Strong verbal and written command of English language.
