Sourcing Manager (steel) Key Responsibilities 1. Managing current customer/supplier profiles and developing new customers/suppliers for assigned steel products in assigned region(s).
2. Actively promote new clients/suppliers’ relationships and identify new opportunities to enhance company’s presence in the region. 3. Stay up to date on market movements / analysis to make the most of trading opportunities in the market. 4. Deliver sourcing targets and manage trading transactions for the assigned region. 5. Meet with and develop relations with End Users/ Stockiest/ Fabricators for the sale of steel products (Longs, Flats, Tubes/ Pipes etc.) 6. Effective coordination with back-office team for flawless contract execution, minimize claims exposure. 7. Establish sourcing relationships. 8. Achieve sourcing/sales targets for assigned products & services 9. Any other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications 1. University Graduate, major in international trade or relevant discipline, Engineering background would be an added advantage 2. 7-10 years of relevant experience in Steel trading is preferred. 3. Possess good knowledge of markets and customers in the region. 4. Strong sales/ trading ability / rapport building 5. Good knowledge of the technical aspects of Steel products and their application 6. Good understanding of INCO TERMS 2020, UCP 600, contract exposure, marine freight (container and/ or bulk), etc. 7. Able to translate strategies into practical action and deliver results. 8. Team Player - ability to operate effectively in a multi-cultural team environment (across time zone, work locations etc.). 9. Strong business acumen, judgment & self-motivation to operate and grow a dynamic business
