Each region operating in semi-autonomous offices with their own corporate functions including Commercial, Finance, HR, Compliance & Legal, Customer Service, and Operations. Purposes of the position ? A highly motivated individual with the relevant skill sets with established relationships, managing existing relationships and capable of developing new relationships with Shipping Lines and Air & Sea Consolidators, NVOCCs and Customers ? Procurement of Ocean and Air rates ? Build towards being able to secure direct Ocean Freight service agreements with carriers ? Implementing required infrastructure for IATA, FIATA and other clearing and forwarding related memberships and associations. ? Actively engage in the sales of freight product ? Provide business proposal to internal stakeholders to further support the growth of local freight desk Responsibilities ? Support internal commercial teams by procuring ocean and air freight rates ? Build air and sea freight vendor network ? On-boarding of new vendors ? Bi-weekly/Monthly freight matrix ? Lead IATA and FIATA membership and association accreditation ? Build new client base based on historic and new customer relationships ? Achieve annual individual sales target of 1.5 x TCTC ? Formulate freight strategy in line with group commodity market segments ? Leverage from own network and further establish relationships with various partners not limited to associations, container carrier and network members globally ? Strong team player, able to work collaboratively with operational team members, whilst liaising and coordinating with vendors and internal clients ? Communicate, share and collaborate with all overseas Access World branches on leads generated to and from any locations ? Monthly commercial activity reporting in the form of a quotation tracking and sales pipeline ? Work with direct Manager on all sales, business development and budgeting requirements ? Other duties as may be assigned from time to time ? Ensure compliance to Access World Group Policies Network of interaction Comprise but not limited to: ? Exposure to Regional & Global role Specific requirements for the position Essential ? Qualification from a recognized tertiary establishment in the field of logistics would be advantages ? Minimum 5 years proven freight procurement and achievement in bringing in new sales ? Result oriented with strong ability to prioritize tasks in order to achieve clearing and forwarding division and sales target assigned ? Resourceful with excellent commercial and entrepreneurial flair are critical to the success of this role ? An accomplished self-starter who is able to hands-on ? Ability to work effectively in a high pressure and fast paced working environment ? Ability to travel regularly locally and regionally when required ? Flexible in working with partners from different time zone when required ? Good influencing skills with a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork ? Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
