- Managing the planning and implementation of product lines with aligned merchandising strategies. - Utilize data analytics to understand customer behavior, track sales performance, and make informed merchandising decisions. - Perform market analysis, competitive shop and analyze historical sales trends to develop category strategies outlining strengths, gaps, opportunities and treats. - Plan assortments around promotional events, holidays, or sales seasons. - Preparing annual and quarterly budgets and presenting them to the relevant stakeholders.
2. Merchandise Buying, Inventory and Sales Management
- Managing the product selection, demand forecasting, order placing, and inventory management based upon market trends, customer preferences and business goals. - Maintain optimal stock levels to prevent stockouts or overstock situations. - Monitor inventory turnover rates and implement strategies to reduce excess inventory. - Identifying trends and monitoring the supply and demand. - Implement pricing strategies for promotions, discounts, and sales events to drive customer traffic and sales. - Interpreting sales reports and providing counter plans on how to improve figures and customer engagement.
3. Bespoke Product Development and Sourcing
- Working independently on developing new and unique bespoke product line to fulfil guests’ needs in the part and generate newness and excitement. These covers engaging with key stakeholders from understanding their requirements, working with different resources and vendors to design, develop a prototype, negotiate with vendors for terms, order buying and goods delivery to the market. - Responsible for the full cycle management of products and responsible for the commercial success of products.
4. Liaise and Communication with Stakeholders
- Work with other functional teams to ensure a local merchandise success across all retail shops including collaboration on in-store signage, displays, and other marketing materials to highlight promotions and featured products. - Communicate the product strategy to stakeholders and drive consistent premium guest experiences. - Work closely with functional team to ensure right product execution and storytelling to consumers.
5. External Stakeholder Management
- Set high bar on vendor service and product quality and conduct annual review to make reasonable vendor portfolio refreshment. - Work closely with suppliers to negotiate terms, secure favorable pricing, and ensure timely deliveries and ensure vendors and the product safety compliance in according to cooperate, local and national standards. - Leverage LEGO resources in new product launch campaign and cross branding opportunities to maximize our retail commercial outcomes.
6. Health & Safety
Managers/supervisors are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees in their teams are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
Requirements: 1. Education
- Bachelor's degree or above. - Degree in business administration or supply chain management is a plus.
2. Background and Experiences
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in buying or merchandising function in consumable field. Proficient in product merchandising, marketplace and consumer knowledge and strategic line planning with science and art. - Experiences in a cross functional work environment, project management or matrix organization - Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems. - Proven track record of successful vendor management and strategic buying.
