Overall description of the job The Mechanical Design and Application Engineer develops solutions to satisfy customer’s requirements and materialize them through conceptual and designs while considering their budgets and functionalities. Main tasks Support sales personnel with application solution based on customer requirements and needs. Support sales personnel where customer calls for quotations of complex systems or when the collection of more technical information or further details is necessary. Execute technical proposals through system layout engineering or cost estimating of necessary components or modules. Request quotations from external suppliers and evaluate estimates based on the concept developed, this shall include hardware and labor cost. Support fulfilment team during assembly and installation phases providing technical support/ knowledge, recovery action when required. Collaborate with sales personnel and fulfilment team for problems related to the assembly or in the event of customer complaints Provide detailed designing of the developed. Support FlexLink Asia such as providing technical knowhows, concept development, designing where required. Knowledge Familiar in the processes for automotive battery production Familiar with different types of materials and their usage. Autodesk Inventor and Autocad Technical drawing Product market Project management Customer awareness Customer technology Cost estimate and Pay-off calculation AutoDesk CAD Tools FlexLink Design Tools Skills and Abilities Innovative Analytical Teamwork Problem solving Communication Assertiveness Education and experience Mechanical Engineering degree, minimum 6 years’ experience as a mechanical engineer from the automotive battery or equivalent Authorities and Responsibilities Position is responsible for: Developing conceptuals, working with internal and external (partner) concept approval. Estimate the cost while working with the sales team. Identify the best supplier with reference to specific projects (in terms of conformity to technical specification, prices, contracts, etc.) Analyze cost deviation to estimate with regards to engineering design. Prepare quotes Visits to customers, individually, with Sales or Fulfilment Position has the authority for: Evaluate mechanical design. Manage mechanical engineering work in projects. Define standards in mechnical engineering.
