Overview: We are looking for a Buyer in UD Group. Your mission is to drive and achieve all Purchasing Objectives for the assigned portfolio within Purchasing. Your role as a Buyer is both strategic & operational, taking care of sourcing, project deliverables and operational maintenance activities.
Reporting To Powertrain Buyer manager
Main Responsibilities 1. Contribute to segment strategies & be an active member in the global network of commodity buyers. 2. Responsible to optimize sourcing activities together with all related functions, Engineer, SQE, Logistic, Cost engineer etc. 3. Responsible to secure that supplier selection is aligned with the Segment strategy. 4. Responsible of the supplier recommendation in Sourcing Board including Business case, and agreement management 5. Responsible to cost KPI/P&L and MCL of owned segments and suppliers 6. To secure the outcome of the sourcing in a contractual package, and that all agreements are approved and signed 7. Execute agreements with suppliers during production and after production 8. Drive all relevant activities to deliver on QDCFTSR targets during production phase 9. Monitor, identify and mitigate risks in cooperation with SQ&D team 10. Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility 11. Manage and negotiate product/processes changes during production phase, and after production phase for Revenue segments 12. Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics and financial flows to the suppliers 13. Perform hand-over to Uptime buyer when parts are phased out of production for non-revenue parts
Competence & Experience - 1-3 years’ experience in Purchasing and/or extensive negotiation experience with a supplier/customer relationship - Knowledge of Financial analysis, Cost Management, Production & Supply chain and technology - Business in both Japanese and English - Business, Engineering or related field and or equivalent experience - Strong team player, self-starter and the ability to take initiatives - Business in English and Japanese
Preferable - Strong experience of working for Automotive or related company - Project Management - Quality Management - Contract Management - Relevant process & system knowledge
