Market Intelligence Intern Huntsman’s Polyurethane division is now looking for a Market Intelligence Intern. This Market Intelligence Intern is - To support HPU APAC marketing intelligence, for the prompt collection of market information, conduct research (web and interviews) and keep up to date the developments in the market. This information includes monitoring competition activities, changes in regulations, development on drivers, research on key projects. - To take the role of daily external information research, data collection, analysis and regular report. - To maintain internal market database and output routine reports accordingly. This role is located in Huntsman Shanghai Campus.
As the Market Intelligence Intern, you will: - The incumbent is required to provide the following inputs according to business needs with sufficient depth and in an effective manner. This will cover the following typical areas but not restricted to these. o Macro economy, mega trends, policies, industrial regulations and others. o Overall industry movements, identifying target industries/industries in a Deep Dive framework. o PU market size data mining, analysis and database management to serve multiple purposes. o Competitive scene which includes prices, operational rates, market share, new investments, business morels, alternative competitive materials and segments move-on, new application/market penetration, etc. - The position provides input, analysis and tools to marketing intelligence manager. - Continuous analyses of all relevant substitution markets and relevant industries/industry segments with relevance to PU. - Contribute to marketing projects and strategies with intelligence information gathered. These could include blending house strategy, market trend estimation, downstream industry (e.g. rigids, automotive) deep dive, SMU marketing plan updates (e.g. Adhesive, elastomer), lead in cold calls (new market research), etc. Skills and experiences required: - Bachelor’s degree, preferred major in Chemical, Marketing, or Business. - Conceptual thinking: Identifies key factors, essence and underlying structure to complex issues. - Analytical thinking: Demonstrates an understanding of how one issue may be part of a larger system. - Dealing with ambiguity: Remains flexible and is able to adapt to change easily especially when dealing in new areas. - Using resources: Co-ordinates resources and activities effectively. - Initiative: Implements/recommends improvements and changes to improve the quality of work and analysis. - Building relationships: Builds rapport with all types people and work with them to understand the markets. - Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. - Proficient in both Mandarin and English.
