Traeger is currently seeking a Sourcing Engineer with a comprehensive grasp of electrical and electromechanical components, industry standards and compliance requirements. In this role you will lead procurement processes for off the shelf, complex and custom designed electrical components in accordance with Traeger’s design specifications. You will be responsible for maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, while ensuring reliability and optimizing costs. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for analyzing industry trends and providing guidance on how to proactively adapt to new technologies and mitigate risks to our sourcing, engineering, quality, and supply planning teams. ———————————— Job Requirements: 1. Understanding of electrical and electromechanical components, including components like fan, motors, and ignitors to name a few, and other related technologies. 2. Familiarity with industry standards, specifications, and compliance requirements for electronic and electrical components. 3. Experience in evaluating and selecting reliable and high-quality suppliers. Identify and assess suppliers to meet Traeger’s hardware needs including coating providers. 4. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with reliable suppliers 5. Perform Supplier audits and ensure suppliers adhere to our 8D methodology or similar methodologies for quality assurance. 6. Experience in negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers. 7. Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics for electronic and electrical components. 8. Understanding of cost drivers and the ability to implement cost-saving strategies. 9. Capability to manage supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and overall reliability. 10. Conducting industry research to stay informed about trends, emerging technologies, and pricing dynamics. 11. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to align sourcing strategies with organizational goals. 12. Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and providing procurement support. ———————————— Candidate Requirements: 1. University degree in a relevant field: Engineering (mechanical / electrical), business, mathematics, economics, etc. 2. Minimum 5+ years of experience in Electronics industry working with Asia based, international ODM/JDM contract manufacturers for consumer products (appliances / connected devices a plus) and electronics component distributors. 3. Ability to read and interpret ‘Bill of Materials’ (BOM), engineering drawings, Gerber files, engineering change notifications and related technical data. 4. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. 5. Implementing project management principles to ensure smooth procurement processes for electromechanical and electrical components. 6. Ability to effectively communicate well (fluent speaking and writing) in English and Chinese (Mandarin) 7. Negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with hardware component suppliers. 8. Adherence to ethical standards in procurement practices. 9. Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the electronics and electrical components industry. 10. Experience working for a Western company with English as the primary working language
