Main Accountabilities: 1. Cover Process safety/asset integrity as part of the SAQ review processes, and any potential involvement in Group SHE audit and Support visits to verify sites performance and adherence to required standards. 2. Establish and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) policies and guidelines consistent with Synthomer Process Safety Management Standard – SHEMS 2.0. 3. Obtain site commitment of resources to implement site PSM policies and guidelines and to sustain continuous improvement of process safety. 4. Develop, monitor and establish clear accountability for performance against specific site process safety goals and objectives, monitored by means of Process Safety Performance indicators. 5. Ensure compliance to and continuous improvement of the PSM System through appropriate programme of Monitor, Audit and Review. 6. Provide leadership and vision to sites in process safety management. 7. Work with R&D, through appropriate training, to ensure process safety management issues are adequately addressed. 8. Ensure relevant PSM training is provided to make PS more accessible to the entire workforce, through the development and utilisation of bow ties. 9. Involvement in several areas of Process Safety, including Hazard Studies, Plant Modifications, Human Factors, Functional Safety etc. 10. Assist with accidents/incident investigation when required. 11. Central point for collation of chemical process hazard data and Process Safety Events (Tiers 1 to 4) for China and participate PS network meetings as agreed. Minimum Requirements: Education: Degree in Science or Engineering. Experience: Minimum 2 Years Process Safety or Production Engineering, preferably with multi site overseeing role. Working towards Chartered Engineer status Demonstrable experience of implementing Human Factors, HAZOP, PHA and Functional Safety (IEC 61511) programmes is desirable although a thorough knowledge of the above would be essential. English speaking would be preferred but not essential.
