Overall Responsibilities and Duties: The Global Tooling & Equipment Commodity Buyer will support the procurement of tools and equipment for Forvia Interiors. This role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization for commodities such as welding, covering, premium wrapping, and foaming equipment. The buyer will assist in implementing cost-effective and sustainable practices to support Forvia Interiors programs across multiple regions. 1. Commodity Procurement: o Execute the procurement of tools and equipment including welding, covering, premium wrapping, and foaming. o Assist in developing and implementing strategies to optimize the supply chain and reduce costs. 2. Supplier Relationship Management: o Maintain and develop relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. o Address supplier issues and support resolution efforts. o Participate in global sourcing activities to identify and qualify new suppliers. 3. Contract and Agreement Support: o Support the establishment and management of frame agreements and maintenance contracts with suppliers. o Assist in implementing cost structures to improve gross margins and optimize payment conditions, including reverse factoring. 4. Cost Reduction Initiatives: o Participate in workshops with suppliers to identify and achieve cost reductions. o Contribute to joint venture initiatives in Asia with strategic suppliers to enhance sourcing capabilities. 5. Sourcing Portfolio Support: o Support the management of a sourcing portfolio with an annual non-recurring spend of 60m, covering all Forvia programs. o Assist in defining and implementing convenience strategies for a diverse supplier base, spanning 35 suppliers and 70 plants. 6. Sustainability and Risk Management: o Support efforts to minimize CO2 emissions and deploy sustainable practices in collaboration with suppliers. o Assist in conducting risk analysis to ensure supply chain resilience and sustainability. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have/be: 61 Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Purchasing, Business Administration, or a related field. 61 Experience in procurement, preferably within the automotive industry. 61 Strong background in supplier management and development, with a focus on cost reduction and sustainability. 61 Excellent negotiation and communication skills. 61 Ability to support complex projects and contribute to strategic initiatives across multiple regions. 61 Experience with global sourcing and managing a diverse supplier base.
