ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Global Transport & Customs team provides the center of expertise for the global Transport network. It sets the strategy, frameworks, guidelines and provides functional expertise in network design across the global supply community and with the logistics community in the regions. It has the responsibility to identify and manage projects that deliver added value to the business in terms of Cost, Performance, Quality, Service, Compliance and sustainability in relation to Transportation, Customs and Trade Compliance. Furthermore, the Global Transport & Customs team is controlling the global freight budget and provides governance over the Control Tower Operations.
In Coty we are in the middle of a transformation process which provides very interesting opportunities for dynamic logistics professionals.
THE ROLE In this position you are responsible to manage proper execution of transport and customs operations from and to several APAC countries, as well as to oversee incidents, reporting and KPIs in the region.
Type of operations to be managed: 1) Air and Ocean inbound from other regions, with responsibility to ensure smooth operations between destination airport/port and final destination (on-carriage) including governing instructions between stakeholders (e.g. carrier, customs broker, etc) 2) Air and Ocean outbound to other regions, with responsibility to ensure perfect booking and ensure smooth transportation for origin to port/airport in destination region including governing instructions between stakeholders (e.g. carrier, customs broker, etc).
Key operational and functional responsibilities:
1) Provide maximum visibility to the stakeholders and management team 2) Autonomously Supervise a set of KPI in your areas, with responsibility to run analysis and short-term action plan when out of target, escalating wherever is necessary. 3) Support cost analysis to ensure we respect our transport budget, including transport analysis of utilization rate as well as customs related charges. 4) Ensure agreed lead times are met. 5) Ensure our logistic service providers (including customs brokers) have capacity enough to support our volume and eventually develop contingency plans.
You are also expected to occasionally support management team in making continuous improvement project in your area, including supply network design, efficiency improvement, broker & carrier selection and qualifications, work processes and KPI improvements.
You are expected to collaborate with different functions: DCs, local marketing team, procurement, planning and mainly with existing control tower that is performing day by day operations.
You are expected to attend and contribute to standard meetings internally and with carriers, brokers and applicable service providers and adhere, propose and execute improvement proposal to existing work processes.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING 1) Required educational background: B.Sc. degree in Logistics - advanced degree an advantage. 2) 2-4 Years of relevant working experience in freight (preferable in Multinational company – preferable in Global forwarding company or transport in FMCG). 3) Strong analytical and fact-based problem-solving skills. 4) Working knowledge of MS Office, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP). 5) Good skills in EXCEL / Power BI – VBA creation capabilities will be an advantage. 6) Fluent in English, another language is a plus. 7) Strong team player - able to effectively and proactively act in a complex matrix organization. 8) Customs requirements -familiar with custom regulations of either one of the APAC countries, ie Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Korea, Thailand, China, etc. 9) Familiar with HTS classification rules and practice
