Job Description Job Title Product Development Senior Scientist – NPD Oral Care Manager Job Title NPD Lead Department R&D oral Care Job Purpose The Formulation Development Scientist leads new product development by developing formulations and/or providing analysis and evaluation of material and products at all stages of the development process, considering scientific and timing objectives. This individual would have various levels of involvement and leadership in the development of formulation to meet China Oral Health market business needs. The Scientist will also support the R&D project team through development, scale-up, manufacturing and launch for various brand products complied with regulatory requirement of China. Key Responsibilities (Recommended: 10 bullet points maximum) 85 Lead product development work technically in driving innovation opportunities of Sensodyne, Parodontax, Polident etc. 85 Prepare and execute the project development plan by closely working with internal cross functional team and/or external business partners. 85 Draft/ review/ approve the related raw material/process/product spec. 85 Ensures all research work meet internal procedure and external regulatory requirement. 85 Explores the external innovation idea, participates the third-party due diligence work and be responsible for technical related assessment & improvement. 85 Develop/validate the test method to support product development or claim substantiation work. 85 Demo development. Design/develop robust/differentiate study to demonstrate the product superiority of product. 85 Provide scientific input for consumer study design and report based on deep consumer understanding and product technical knowledge. 61 Scope of Accountability Provide details of any scope data relevant to the role e.g. the net sales that the role supports / generates or budget responsibility. Knowledge/ Education / Experience Required A. Educational Background 1. Minimum Level of Education Required* Above BS degree, prefer MS or Ph.D. degree; Chemistry/Material/Pharmaceutical or related science Area of Specialisation Required* 7 years (BS); 5 years (MS) experience and 2 years (Phd) in NPD/Formulation development in FMCG company. B. Job-Related Experience Describe what experience this position will require the job holder to have obtained in past roles within or outside of GSK that would demonstrate a level of proficiency in the stated role. Minimum Level of Job-Related Experience Required* 61 7 years (BS); 5 years (MS) experience and 2 years (PhD) in NPD/Formulation development in FMCG company. 61 Oral care experience is must and toothpaste product development experience preferred. 61 Deep understanding for product development process and commercial environment. 61 Ability to apply scientific principles and techniques to assigned projects. 61 Demonstrate proficiency to connect consumer needs to product development. 61 Be proactive & logical thinking. 61 Proven demonstration to take initiative, think and work independently, problem-solving, work effectively in teams, and multitask. 61 An ability to organize and report study data from internal and external sources. 61 Understanding of statistics and its application to experimental work. C. Other Job-Related Skills/Background 61 Knowledge to use Microsoft office software 61 Fluent in English both verbal and written.
