Waste2Wear is a fast-growing, environmentally innovative Canadian company with a focus on sustainable textile products. We produce fabrics and textile products from recycled plastics (rPET & rPP) since 2008. We are looking to hire a Financial Controller in Shanghai Office to lead the finance department from a financial perspective. You will report to both CEO and VP Operational Finance and work alongside other C-Suite team members. You will take ownership of all company’s fiscal and regulatory matters. To do well in this role you should have experience as a Finance Controller in a company with international financials and an extensive balance sheet. In this role you should not only oversee but also involved in daily accounting operational processes, and to ensure superb customer experience. You will also optimize our company's operating capabilities and employ tactics to maximize customer satisfaction. The Finance Controller will assist in compiling the company's budget, and employ strategies to safeguard assets and stock. You will compile financial reports, and control financial policies and procedures. You will team up with management to implement business strategies and not only primarily support the garments side of the business, but also to be a resource for the reusable bags side of the business out of HongKong. Top candidates will be exemplary leaders, have superb business cleverness and have sound understanding of business strategies. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Participate in a supervisor role within finance department, and act as trusted finance advisor and thought to support business through accurate accounting. Cover both China local accounting and HongKong, supporting for overseas accounting tasks, to comply with corporate & local accounting, tax, treasury rules and regulations. 2. Lead the delivery of accurate reporting and helping to improve accounting processes, including timely financial closings and accurate financial data reporting and submission and the compliance of all the KPI′s. 3. Participate actively in global projects that could impact accounting processes and financial expansion projects. 4. Ensure a robust internal control environment and structure, including coordination with internal and external auditors, monitor and ensure effective implementation of IFRS. 5. Demonstrate a resilient and collaborative working style that empowers the work team to achieve desired outcomes, coach and participate actively in the development of employee’s direct reports and other employees from other teams. 6. Responsible for PRC&IFRS accounting report preparation; Review monthly account reconciliation, financial fluctuation analysis, quarterly reporting and other accounting report requested by region or group. 7. Developing a mindset of continuous improvement by constantly striving for ways to leverage process efficiencies. 8. Interacting and collaborating with local business partners about tax, accounting topics. 9. Detect the need of new policies procedures and propose accordingly. REQUIREMENTS: 1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business/finance discipline, CPA certification, or advanced degree preferred. 2. Minimum 10 years' experiences in controller position with a company of similar or greater sales volume. 3. Experience and working knowledge of PRC & IFRS accounting standards. 4. ERP experienced user, experience with Odoo is preferred. 5. Familiar with physical accounting operations in mainland China and Hong Kong. 6. Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. 7. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time and report efficiently. 8. Ability to develop deep and trusted relationship with the team, peers, and stakeholders. 9. Ability to push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing company practices and mindsets. 10. Detail oriented with the ability to capture information in a clear, concise manner and can adapt information for various audiences. 11. Fluent English communication skills (in both speaking and writing) is a must. 12. Industry experiences in apparel/garments manufacturing is a plus. 13. Proven track-record with solid references needed.
