PRIMARY PURPOSE: Define and execute the product development and strategy of the automotive connector products in China. Responsible for product development, portfolio, roadmap and driving improvement plans externally to gain market share and internally to improve profitability.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Lead the product lifecycle and portfolio management activities in the China market. 2. Work with Global Product Manager to define and execute pricing strategy and manufacturing footprint for automotive connector product portfolio, including compilation of competitive price points to manage upcoming price erosion in the market. 3. Responsible for product line transactional activities through daily collaboration with sales, engineering, and the manufacturing facilities. 4. Develop sound point of views on technology, product, customer, competitors and market trends and action them into strategies for product line and profit growth. 5. Interface with customers in the development of specifications and technical refinements, which can be used to direct the development of derivatives, improvements, or new products. 6. Drive process improvements, efficiencies, and best practice knowledge sharing across a matrix organization 7. Work interactively with Molex management, engineering, manufacturing, and sales to foster a highly responsive team environment dedicated to providing customer specific solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner. 8. Interact directly with manufacturing plant to lead cost reduction efforts, capacity planning, and quality improvement initiatives. 9. Developing range of outcomes and economic study for the new products, responsible and accountable for the new product profit and returns. 10. Responsible for meeting both revenue and profit targets for the responsible product family. 11. Domestic travel required (20%)
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 1. Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline. 2. 3+ years prior Product development experience in product management, project management, sales, or marketing. 3. Ability to translate company and division vision into objectives that are meaningful and attainable. 4. Willingness to embrace a challenge process by raising ideas, solutions, and issues across the organization 5. Strong automotive connector or harness background 6. Economic thinking, decision making and risk taking 7. Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation and communications skills 8. Customer orientated sensibility 7. Great presentation and listening skills 8. WHO WE ARE PREFERED 1. MBA or other related graduate degree. 2. 5+ years experience / knowledge within the global automotive industry. 3. 5+ years exposure to / knowledge of engineering, quality, sales/marketing. 4. Automotive connector or harness industry experience 5. Automotive Tier 1 product management or marketing experience 6. Financial acumen (NPV, IRR, EBITDA, etc.) 7. Data analysis
