Responsibilities: Develop and implement trade compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to local, national, and international regulations. Stay up-to-date with changes in trade regulations and communicate any updates or changes to relevant stakeholders within the organization. Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential compliance issues and develop strategies to mitigate risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, logistics, and procurement, to ensure compliance throughout the supply chain. Provide guidance and training to employees on trade compliance matters, including import and export regulations, restricted parties, and customs requirements. Lead import and export documentation, including classification, licensing, and record-keeping. Coordinate with external partners, such as customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies, to ensure smooth and compliant movement of goods. Handle any trade compliance violations or incidents, conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions as vital. Prepare and submit required reports and filings to regulatory authorities.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is helpful. Demonstrated ability in trade compliance, customs, or international logistics. In-depth knowledge of global trade regulations, including import and export controls, trade sanctions, and customs procedures. Strong understanding of trade compliance software and systems. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and implement effective compliance strategies. Outstanding attention to detail and communication skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external partners. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Professional certifications in trade compliance, such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES), are useful.
