Responsibilities: As a member of WuXi Biologics China Business Development Team, you will be working in the cutting-edge fields of contract research and development as well as GMP manufacturing of biologics.
This role is focused on acquiring new accounts and establishing long-term relationships with commercial and academic clients in the biologics field. Ideally, the candidate has a scientific background in the fields such as biology, chemistry, pharmacology, immunology, and/or bioengineering. Experience in the biopharma industry is an advantage. You will be managing the assigned prospects, leads, and accounts in China based on approved sales and marketing plans.
61 Prepares account strategies and identifies strategic accounts to reach and exceed sales targets in discovery, development and manufacturing of biologics in China. 61 Assesses opportunities and develops customized proposals and value propositions for clients, by working with BD Supports in technical functions and Proposal Specialist in CMC Management and Project Management teams. 61 Develops a strong network in China biopharma industry to identify and acquire opportunities by utilizing means such as field networking and conferences. 61 Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key decision makers. Provides timely customer support and appropriate solutions with the assistance from CMC Lead and Project Management in order to direct and expedite the development of customer products. 61 Works closely with internal teams such as Technical Function BD support, Project Management and CMC Leads to support project activities, and proactively communicate with the clients on potential business and technical risks. 61 Promotes customer satisfaction and trust by answering inquiries, providing technical and service related information, and preparing customized proposals for clients’ project needs. 61 Works closely with various internal business units to ensure smooth coordination of efforts and effective communication with all parties. Coordinates BU client visits and customers visits to international manufacturing sites. 61 Maintains customer database, accurate forecast and opportunity management by utilizing the SalesForce platform. 61 Works closely with Marketing department to organize and manage conferences and tradeshows. 61 Engages in market intelligence activities by collecting voice of customers and reporting competitive information. 61 Receives and manages customer feedback and complaints, leads improvements, and shares them with Business Development team and appropriate departments.
Qualifications and Skills:
Based in one of biotech hubs in China, including but not limited Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Beijing, Chengdu, etc. Familiar with biotech/biopharma industrial landscape at least in your local area, preferably in a large region coverage in China. BS or above, preferably in biology, chemistry or related fields. Strong communication skill in Chinese is mandatory. Proficient English reading and writing skill is required. Business level communication with internal and external clients in English is highly preferred. Technical skills / knowledge of over 2 years of relevant business development experience. Industry experience in biologics process development and/or manufacturing and/or testing. Experience in Contract Research Organization (CRO) or Contract Development Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) is preferred. Willingness to travel for face-to-face internal and external meetings and conferences, and work independently. Organizing and hosting internal and external web meetings. Systematic workflow and clear documentation skills. Computer skills such as Microsoft Office Suites and other BD related software, such as SalesForce Platform.
