This job will focus on the design, development and engineering of new and existing pump systems used in the mining industry. This position is located in Shanghai or Beijing, with possible travel to the mining areas.
In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are: 1)Design and Development 61 Lead design and development activities for high pressure pump products and systems used in the mining segments. 61 Provide engineering input including concept design and drawings, Bill Of Material structures, General Arrangement drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Operating & Maintenance manuals, manufacturing drawings and compilation of technical training programs. 61 Support the China sales, service and manufacturing teams.
2)Project Management 61 Project manage all related product development project files and manuals. 61 Work with relevant departments to create and monitor project plans for active projects. 61 Coordinate changes to the relevant personnel. 61 Participate in weekly project meetings.
3)Product Support and improvement 61 Support the rationalisation of existing products and component parts. 61 Work with the engineering team to create standardised offerings for the mining market. 61 Support product improvements for lower material, lower cost and improved reliability. 61 Work with the sourcing team to monitor cost reduction targets for the standardised product offerings. 61 Coordinate changes to the UK design team. 61 Support the sales team for upgrade opportunities on existing systems to ensure the system meets the latest design and uses the latest technology.
Role Requirements 61 University Degree in Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering 61 Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with engineering, manufacturing and distribution operations in an mining environment. 61 Understanding of underground coal mining systems. 61 Experience of a SAP or ERP system 61 Experience of PDM or data management system for document control. 61 Hydraulic and mechanical engineering design of positive displacement plunger pump design. 61 Solid Works and AutoCAD skills to a good/high level 61 Project management experience. 61 Demonstrated knowledge of MA and underground explosion proof standards. 61 Demonstrated knowledge of high pressure, above 100 bar, hydraulic design ensuring compliance to Pressure Equipment Directive or ASME standards. 61 Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations 61 The ability to write reports/complete paperwork accurately and legibly. 61 The ability to plan and manage a varied workload and have a pro-active and flexible attitude. 61 Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures) 61 Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well thought-out recommendations. 61 Strong, team-oriented leadership skills with presence and a bias for action. 61 Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results. 61 Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations
