As the Senior NPI Sourcing Engineer at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will play a pivotal role in the sourcing and procurement of materials, parts, components, and assemblies. Your contributions will provide our company with a competitive edge through lower material costs, top-quality products, shorter manufacturing cycle-time, and timely delivery to our valued customers.
1. Key Responsibility
61 Responsible for sourcing and procuring of materials, parts, components, and assemblies to provide the company with a competitive edge
61 Support new product/transfer programs by coordinating procurement activities until the first production run
61 Provide technical sourcing support to R&D to meet aggressive Cost of Goods Sold (CoGS) targets and/or new suppliers/materials for development
61 Drive the release of materials in a timely manner with R&D and project core teams to meet production build dates
61 Support R&D sourcing efforts by identifying and purchasing components during prototype builds
61 Drive sourcing activities to achieve cost-saving targets or supply risk mitigation in NPI programs
61 Investigate new or alternate sources of supply to support new product development, cost reduction requirements, and/or supplier performance issues
61 Advocate the category strategies within the business during the product development phase
