Job purpose As a US Tax Senior, you'll join an integrated global network of talented advisors working in a dynamic, fast-moving and commercially-driven environment. In your role, you'll actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships and identify and escalate opportunities for EY on existing engagements. You'll make a technical contribution to projects and deliver work of a high standard that complies with our Quality & Risk Management guidelines. As part of an engagement team, you'll help clients understand and address the tax implications of the transactions that are strategically important to them. You'll also be actively involved in the development of ideas to help clients mitigate transaction risk, enhance opportunity and negotiate effectively. Responsibilities 61 Provide a wide range of tax compliance and advisory services. Identify and address complex US domestic and international income tax issues 61 Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business 61 Develop budgets, determine resource requirements, and direct / monitor engagements; proactively seek opportunities to provide tax services; challenge traditional procedures used in the past; and attempt to find new approaches 61 Develop and guide staff and other junior tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals 61 Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderately complex situations 61 Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery Requirements 61 A recognized accounting or equivalent degree 61 AICPA qualification would be preferred 61 A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience related to providing US federal income tax advisory and compliance services gained from sizable public accounting firm 61 Strong knowledge of US corporate and partnership income tax concepts (e.g. US corporate/partnership federal income tax and international tax). 61 Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral, in English and Chinese 61 Negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challenges 61 Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines 61 Enthusiastic team player with ability to create, sustain and lead effective teams 61 Change orientated with flexible approach
