Key responsibilities 61 Provide a wide range of tax advisory services for many of the financial institutions. Identify and address complex US domestic and international federal income tax issues and assists clients in strategically aligning different areas of taxation. Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations. 61 Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business. 61 Develop budgets, determine resource requirements, and direct / monitor engagements; proactively seek opportunities to provide tax services; challenge traditional procedures used in the past; and attempt to find new approaches. 61 Develop and guide staff and other junior tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback and ensuring team responsibilities are consistent with skills and developmental goals. 61 Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderately complex situations. 61 Build strong internal relationships within the Financial Services tax team and across other services. 61 Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery
Qualifications, Education and Certification
To qualify, candidates must have: 61 An advanced degree in law or taxation (in either case, with an emphasis in US taxation). 61 A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience related to providing US federal income tax advisory services gained from sizable public accounting firm with at least 3 years at a managerial level manage client engagements (experience related to the financial services industry a plus) 61 Broad exposure to key areas of US international taxation issues (e.g., Subchapter C, CFC, PFIC, tax treaties) 61 Professional accountancy qualification 61 Strong negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challenges 61 Team player with strong oral and writing communication skills 61 Fluent English (proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese a plus)
