ABOUT YOUR ROLE: The Product & Merchandising Manager will be responsible for supporting our Product & Merchandising Senior Manager to drive the APAC Product & Merchandising business goals in their assigned territory and product segment, creating compelling APAC seasonal product assortments to deliver seasonal product strategy. Collaborate with Global Merchandising, Design & Marketing teams as well as APAC x-functional teams to ensure product ranges, launch and flow meet strategic vision and financial targets (OTB & NS). Closely communicate with Global Merchandising teams to ensure global product strategy translates to regional plans, while also driving for a more global assortment. Define any business opportunities within APAC base on local Consumer insights, brief to APAC design and product development team to build supplementary products to close the business gap.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE: - Implement Global Segmentation at Consumer, Territory, Channel & Tier level to create necessary distinction for sustainable growth. - Implement APAC Pricing, Ranging & Buying strategy to support category NS, Margin & Growth targets aligned with APAC GM & Finance. - Study and keep tracking APAC Sportswear and Outdoor competitor’s business and product performance. Understand local consumer needs and trends to ensure assortment and categories properly position The North Face to grow and gain market share. - Build and execute Merchandising plan to grow shared global assortment in APAC. - Identify growth opportunities of assigned territory, big trends and ideas as well as driving global alignment and effectiveness of the assortment across DTC (B&M, ECOM) and DTP (Wholesale & Distributor). Capture local growth opportunities & Business gap through partner with Design teams (APAC and Global) and APAC Product Development teams to create products which sit under ONE Global seasonal design direction and framework. - Provide assigned Territory and segment’s Financial & Product input into Global Seasonal planning process. - Actively work with x-functional teams at regional level to align financial plans (OTB), assortment plans and buy plans at key milestones to deliver APAC Business goals and to meet different channels and accounts need. - Responsible for APAC seasonal DTC buy (B&M, EC) to hit our NS, ST and Target Margin. - Leading our Product & Merchandising Assistant Manager, Product Merchandiser to monitor our sell-through performance after product launch, based on the assigned ST target. Read the ST data and to define action plan together with x-functional teams. - Manage SKU productivity and efficiency to targeted goals while balancing APAC regional, channel and account specific needs. - Partner with Marketing on the development of programs and strategies to communicate product attributes, flow, appeal.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU: - Computer/Software Applications: Microsoft Office Suite – Very strong Excel & PowerPoint knowledge required. - Skills: -Strong communication skills both verbal and written, strong cross functional collaboration skills required -Good presentation skills, proven ability to influence internal and external business partners and customers -Strong understanding of APAC marketplace, including regional differences, across diverse channels of distribution -Ability to play an integral role within a broader cross-functional team, to build consensus, connect department and individual expectations to the company vision, and achieve results across a variety of distinct groups. -Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines -Experience in planning, combined with knowledge of retail sales analysis and interpretation of data to identify opportunities -Experience in product creation (a plus) -Experience in product forecasting and/or statistical modeling (a plus) Understanding of product development and manufacturing process (a plus)
