The APR Assistant Controller will be responsible for overseeing aspects of controllership that are regional in nature. The position will focus on local statutory accounting responsibilities in addition to oversight of transactional accounting activities that cannot be processed by GBS. Key responsibilities will include: External Group & Statutory Reporting - Assisting with APR’s monthly financial close - Ensuring accuracy and compliance with group local and regulatory accounting requirements - Providing or coordinating external guidance to GBS on local accounting treatments (statutory/local accounting) - Coordinating with local 3rd party firms to deliver required statutory reporting - Coordinating preparation of statutory reports; support resolution of revenue-recognition accounting treatment for non-standard contracts with Technical Accounting Audit & Technical Accounting Support - Assisting Regional Controller with Internal/ External Audit requests - Assisting with quarterly/annual validation of technical analysis (e.g., Inventory, Loss Reserve) - Assisting Regional Controller with going concern analysis and coordinating internal and external review with senior management and auditors - APR Business Partnering - Managing issues escalated by GBS and coordinating with Regional Controller to resolve - Serving as a regional business partner with local functional leaders - Responding to government surveys as needed for local requirements - Managing banking relationships and reporting as needed to fulfill local requirements - Enforcing local compliance with Kodak controls - Supporting financial fraud cases through preparation of analysis and documentation - Assisting with compliance with local strategic matters (e.g., legal, pension, union, board etc.) Additionally, this position will promote a culture of financial stewardship, integrity and effective collaboration with the GBS, FP&A and other APR business Functions. Experience with corporate accounting in the Asia Pacific region, and financial reporting within a large, multi-national public company are required. A Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants or CICPA designation is required. Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: Leadership/Interpersonal: - Demonstrated effective communicator across a range of audiences (large group presentations to one-on-one meetings) - Demonstrated relationship building, facilitation, consensus building and conflict resolution skills - Demonstrated ability to generate cross group cooperation within an organization and influence change in others - Demonstrated change agent with a focus on continuous improvement - Leadership and communication skills - Mediation & negotiation skills Education/Experience: - 10 years progressive experience in corporate accounting organizations - 4 years undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or related field required - Relevant working experience in other Asian countries beyond China required - Chinese CICPA accounting designation required - Preferred candidate should have 5 years corporate accounting related job experience - Global and/or multi-divisional experience an asset - Audit and process reengineering experience an asset Functional: - Understanding of operations, controllership, regulatory reporting and Chinese GAAP - Understanding of regional statutory financial reporting requirements in China and other Asian Countries - Understanding of transactional accounting such at A/P, A/R, Payroll etc. - Knowledge of auditing and Internal control - Knowledge of US and Chinese GAAP revenue recognition principles - Appreciation for how Financial Planning and Analysis and Control functions interact - Proficient with software applications (SAP GL, Excel, etc) - Spoken and written language capabilities in English and at least 2 Asia language
