Core Responsibilities: - Develop/Optimize recipes for products following APQP process. This includes preparation of a lab sample and sufficient testing to demonstrate fulfillment of customer specifications, including color.
- Recipes are also to be developed to be cost effective, meeting our customers’ requirements while using low cost materials.
- A scientist must understand how recipe cost impacts the profitability of our company.
- Work with operation team and other function to ensure new/modified product alignment (scale up) into production.
- Work with application team to develop application line simulation parameters to ensure that line trials and product introductions are right first time.
- Communicate with account teams to ensure that all project team members are fully up-to-date with technical progress on projects.
- When relevant, a scientist is responsible for finding suitable rework routes to support non-productive inventory reduction with product quality control.
- Keep test specifications and test methods up to date, develop new specifications and methods as required. Aim to minimize the amount of testing needed to meet our customers’ requirements.
- Analyze and document results, prepare technical reports, examinations and summaries
- Ensure all project documentation is completed properly and in full and available for any internal or external quality audits.
- Attend line trials of new product launches at customer sites.
- Lead or take active role in problem solving of customer issues using appropriate methodology, e.g. 8D.
- Understand the process overview.
- Understand specific hazards on safety, health, environment related to the process.
