KEY OBJECTIVES: 61 Drive business strategy in generating growth and value creation for the customer and Synthomer under the assigned territory in China. 61 Manage and develop sales of all products under Adhesive Solutions division within the assigned territory with main focus on Synthomer’s waterborne polymers into labels & tapes market segment. 61 To maintain and develop strong customer relationships with all the existing and potential major customers as well as distributors within the assigned territory. 61 To understand, analyze and report on the Chinese market for waterborne adhesives with a special focus on pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA) 61 Proactively pursue new business opportunities to maximize sales, opportunity funnel, improve market share and profitability
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manage Synthomer’s existing customers in the adhesives industry. 2. Formulate and implement business growth plan to increase share of wallet. Generate topline sales growth with new and existing customers in each of business segment. A special focus on waterborne PSA in tape & label application. 3. Utilize value propositions in offers to customers and translate them into specific financial benefits. 4. Lead development and execution of the account strategy. Gains support for the account strategy aligned with each business strategy. 5. Develop strong working relationships with all major users of waterborne polymer for PSA. Work closely with business development team to analyze and understand the PSA market, customers and competition landscape. 6. Use Opportunity Management processes & CRM tools to build new opportunity pipeline and effectively prioritize, track and drive all sales opportunities to generate business growth. 7. Work closely with Technical Service to ensure appropriate prioritization and resource allocation in respect of customer support work. 8. Report all quality and service deficiencies by registering all customer complaints into the database. Assist the relevant managers in the business to implement corrective actions. 9. Liaise with customer service and logistic team to provide on time delivery & best supply chain solution. 10. Work closely with demand planning team by providing monthly forecast of sales volume and gross margin. 11. Promote and strengthen the Synthomer brand and company image, manage customer seminars and participation in relevant trade shows. 12. Spend minimum 50% of working time in the market, circulate weekly report and visit report on each customer visit within maximum 5 working days and document all significant customer contact & information in customer database. 13. Carries out work in accordance with company Safety and Environmental Policies and ensure SHE compliance in line with relevant internal SHE regulations and all other legal and corporate standards. 14. Other tasks deemed necessary and assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS: 1. Bachelor’s degree or above in chemistry, business, marketing or a related subject. 2. Minimum 8-10 years in a B2B sales role in China, ideally related to adhesives and experience in waterborne PSA application and key account management will have added advantage. 3. Track record of profitable sales growth. 4. International exposure, ideally gained from working in a foreign owned company. 5. Strong interpersonal and presentation/communication skills, ability to work effectively at both strategic and tactical levels and with limited supervision, energetic, driven by results. 6. High level of written and spoken English.
