Senior Technical Designer:
The Senior Technical Designer will work with the following categories: Junior, Missy, Plus, Sweater, Knit, Woven.
Main Responsibilities/Functions Include but are not limited to: 1. Sweaters and Pattern skills is required. Sweater construction, finishing, gauge, stitch, tension, hand feel, and stitch count. 2. Ability to analyze garments for fit and balance and have a keen eye for overall visual aesthetic and proportion. 3. Work with Design team and sales team to execute design direction in sampling and production. 4. Measuring and ensuring garments meet requested specifications for fit and construction, preparing fit samples for fitting on model/Dress form and issue graded spec to factory. 5. Communication with NY office teach team. 6. Understanding customer’s requirements to help standardize and maintain consistent fit based on individual account requirements. 7. Clearly Communicate with factories daily, how best to revise and correct garment for better fit, using detailed comments, measurements, pattern changes and photos on form. 8. Must be proficient in MS Office, especially excel must be expert level. 9. Candidate Must be able to lift mannequins in fitting. 10.Collaborating with production teams to ensure all deadlines are met.
Qualifications: - Academic credentials in apparel or related field. - 5 years’ technical design experience is essential. - Knowledge of garment construction as well as factory sewing techniques is important. - Pattern corrections and basic grading principles. - Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a fast-paced environment. - The ability to create detailed construction pages for factory from designer sketches is a plus. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - High level of organizational skills - Must be detail oriented and be able to follow instructions. - PC Proficient, including Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel mastery a plus) - Ability to work well in a cross functional environment. - Ability to multitask in fast paced and changing priority environment. - Able to speak English is a plus.
