As the Technical Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the quality and technical compliance of garments throughout the technical process. Leading the technical team to deliver quality assurance from development to delivery, consistently meeting the customer quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Lead, manage and upskill the technical team (Garment Technologists and QA), providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the successful execution of products from development throughout the production processes. Provide upskilling technical training to cross-functional teams including vendor teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams within LF including design, merchandising, sourcing, and UK teams. Collaborate with vendors to communicate technical requirements, resolve technical issues, troubleshoot production challenges, drive continuous improvement in quality and efficiency in compliance with customer quality standards. Review and provide technical input on garment designs, specifications, and construction methods to ensure feasibility and manufacturability, aligned with customer minimum makes and safety requirements. Oversee the fit and construction process, ensuring that products meet quality and performance standards while adhering to cost and timeline requirements. Perform regular sample room evaluation visits for vendors. Maintain a library for technical specifications, pattern blocks, grading rules, and construction details to ensure consistency and accuracy across product lines. Supervise and manage the Quality Assurance team to establish and maintain quality standards. Conduct inspections at various stages of production to identify and address any quality issues, ensuring that garments meet the required standards. Establish and enforce quality control processes and procedures to monitor and ensure consistent product quality. Implement strategic and operational quality policy for our products and suppliers to conform to LF policies, standards, and specifications. Provide technical expertise and support in resolving customer complaints or product issues related to fit, construction, or quality. Conduct supplier technical assessments and audits to evaluate their technical standards and capabilities and ensure factories meet customer compliance standards. Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce costs without compromising garment quality. Streamline processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement best practices to optimize the garment production workflow. Stay updated with industry trends related to garment production and quality control, new technologies in garment construction and manufacturing processes.
Operational Skills Strong knowledge of sample process, product safety & legal requirements, risk assessment, fabric & garment testing, garment construction, pattern making, fit, grading & manufacturing process. Familiar with CAD software for pattern development and familiarity with 3D virtual prototyping tools. Self-starter / motivated. Strong and effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, external teams, and suppliers. Detail-oriented mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Requirements Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Fashion Technology, Textile Engineering, or a related field preferred. Working experience in the relevant field minimum 6 years with a minimum of 2 years’ experience at the managerial level. Excellent team management skills. Extensive experience in technical roles within the fashion industry, with a focus on apparel. Experience working with suppliers and manufacturers. Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to fit, quality, and sustainability standards. Able to interpret BS/EU Regulations/Directives and safety regulations. Knowledge of ISO 9000/SA 14000/AQL levels is a must. Excellent command of English and Mandarin. Literate in MS Office. Open to frequent travel.
