Key roles and responsibilities: 80Design and execute experiments as required by project scope, milestones and timeline; develop and guide multiple lines of investigation. 80Develop methods and tools related to strain engineering. 80Apply metabolic engineering and synthetic biology principles to solve potential problems in the engineering of highly efficient microbial strains. May serve in a technical leadership role. 80May manage associates and researchers and be responsible for their professional development. 80Summarize and present results of project/lab activities at internal meetings or external conferences. 80Contribute to the company’s intellectual property portfolio and scientific publications. 80Maintain EHS awareness, execution of risk assessments, incident/near miss reporting and investigation.
Requirements: 80Highly self-motivated, strong desire to succeed, and a collaborative and innovative mindset. 80Ph.D. in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry or related fields with 0-3 years, or M.S. degree with 5 or more years of industrial experience in strain engineering. 80Experience in bacteria metabolic engineering and genetics. E. coli strain engineering experience is preferred. 80Knowledge in fermentation, downstream process as well as analytical chemistry is a plus. 80Proven experiences in strain engineering as demonstrated by publications and previously completed projects and/or developed products. 80Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical and troubleshooting skills. 80Strong communication skills for technical alignment with internal/external project partners.
