Position Summary As a key member of the Global Finance Shared Services Centre (GFSSC) for Tenneco, the General Ledger Manager (GL) APAC will lead different GL teams across regions, in both captive and outsourced locations and will manage the delivery and quality of service, the team workload and controllership of the GL function in the APAC dealing with its APAC locations internal customers for DRiV, Performance Solutions, Powertrain and Clean Air Business Units.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operational and process responsibilities 61 Manage and monitor month end closing for all locations under GFSSC by following US GAAP and company policies and procedures 61 Manage and monitor the upload from ERPs to One Stream (reporting tool) as per the closing calendar 61 Oversee the Balance Sheet Accounts Reconciliation on time preparation and submission 61 Manage internal customer query resolution and ensure distribution of workload across all General Ledger teams 61 Deal with specific internal customers issues as required 61 Resolve all escalated queries and disputes with appropriate stakeholders to maintain internal customer satisfaction and to drive GL processes such as posting of journal entries, ledger account and bank reconciliations and management of fixed assets administration, 61 Ensure integrity of the General Ledger reconciliations to appropriate sub-ledgers and supporting documents including month end reconciliation to the General Ledger 61 Lead the monthly governance meetings and monthly accounting reviews 61 Supervise the tax related activities by ensuring returns submissions and any other related tasks 61 Promote and implement standardization of GL processes 61 Ensure that the controls framework is applied to GFSSC General Ledger activities 61 Ensure compliance of the archival records to satisfy audit, tax and statutory requirements of the relevant jurisdiction of FSSC clients 61 Coordinate the internal, external audits and internal control requirements 61 Instill culture of continuous process improvement 61 Promote positive image of the GFSSC General Ledger team and GFSSC to internal customers 61 Maintain good working relationship with the internal customers 61 Maintain good working relationships with other GFSSC teams 61 Ensure service is delivered in line with agreed controls and procedures 61 Ensure service is delivered in accordance with the Service Level Agreement 61 Identify, analyze and resolve performance issues
Team Supervision 61 Manage the GL teams across APAC ensuring workload balance and assignment of priorities 61 Lead the teams to continuously improve performance and motivate team members 61 Manage the teams according to company policies and procedures, including discipline; code of conduct etc. 61 Perform other duties as assigned or requested that are in accordance with the responsibilities of a member tasks of the GFSSC management team and / or a team lead 61 Attend GFSSC Leadership meetings on behalf of the GL team
REQUIREMENTS: 61 Bachelor’s degree in Economics (Accounting, Banks), any accounting qualification is a plus 61 US GAAP and SOX working experience 61 +10 years of experience in General Accounting, including management position, including 5 years of relevant experience on the role 61 Intracompany reconciliation process experience 61 Proved experience working on Finance projects, including project management 61 Experience of working in Shared Services and outsourcing environment 61 Capex reporting and Fixed Assets administration 61 Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus 61 English - proficient level, any other foreign language is a plus 61 SAP FICO solid knowledge
