European retailer is looking for a Category Manager focused on Furniture business. The candidate will be located in Shanghai in the sourcing office and will report directly to BDM. Responsible for assist BDM for business growth and the direction and coordination of all merchandising activities for assigned product lines from sourcing, product development, order execution through delivery to meet buyers needs and achieve business objectives.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Identify customer requirements so that the business development activities undertaken can fulfill customer needs.
2. Determine appropriate price quotations.
3. Ensure identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost and sustainability) in accordance with Company policies.
4. Direct and coordinate the value chain process from Ordering to Production to Shipping so that products can be delivered to customers on time.
5. Identify vendors for production and/or raw material supply and evaluate their production and service quality, ensure compliance standard and performance so that quality production can be ensured.
6. Establish and manage relationships with buying team abroad so that sales can be enhanced, and business goals can be achieved.
7. Lead and manage the team under his/her supervision and motivate them to maximize their performance and ensure all purchase orders details are input into our Company Systems on a timely basis.
8. Participate in company strategic planning activities & recommend improvement & growth of the business.
9. Prepare sufficient orientation and catalogs for team’s training purpose
10. Excellent Microsoft skills, e.g. EXCEL, PPT
11. Any other tasks/projects as assigned
GENERAL PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
- With min. 8+ years’ solid merchandising experience, Bachelor+ degree
- Good communication, team management and negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- A good team player, well organized and detail-minded, with high level of integrity & attention to detail
- Strong knowledge and background of both Indoor Furniture & Outdoor Furniture
- Strong analytical and presentation/communication skills
- Creativity for better solution
