Job Responsibilities: - Apply chemistry knowledge to solve standard chemistry problems without instruction and receives guidance on new assignments or more complex process development problems from a senior team member or supervisor. - Perform scientific experiments aimed at optimizing and developing the necessary understanding of complex chemical processes to enable larger scale manufacturing of APIs or intermediates. - Effective communication and documentation of the projects within the project team in both verbal and written forms. - Perform literature searches and keeps up to date in current techniques/technology to use for resolving scale up issues - Maintain proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies - Comply with applicable regulations, and performs all work in a safe manner. Requirements: - Entry PhD in organic chemistry or related specialty (or MSc with 3+ years, or Bachelor with 6 + years) pharmaceutical or relevant experience. - Demonstrated successful independent synthetic organic chemistry laboratory experience and the understanding of multiple disciplinary laboratory technologies required for process scale up and chemical manufacturing - Supplemental technical courses in area of expertise - Ability to operate laboratory equipments with independence and understand scale up equipment requirements - Ability in concise and accurate way of reporting of technical data and interpretation thereof - Ability to write technical reports and operation procedures - Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills - Proven problem solving ability with practical approach - Must be able to work in a team environment - Appropriate level of understanding of cGMP and safety regulations
