Job Summary The Logistics Specialist will oversee and manage all aspects of shipping and logistics for goods moving from China based vendors to distribution centers and customers around the world. This role involves coordinating vendor bookings, optimizing freight forwarding partners based on cost and service needs, and ensuring efficient and timely delivery to destination distribution centers and customers. Additionally, the role includes the creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for ocean and parcel booking management, the development and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor logistics operations, and coordination with the REP Colorado Logistics department to execute the vendor routing guide.
Key Responsibilities 61 Vendor Coordination: Manage bookings with vendors in China, ensuring all shipping details, schedules, and documentation are aligned with distribution needs and vendor routing guidelines 61 Ocean Freight Management & Freight Forwarding Optimization: Assign bookings from vendors to freight forwarding partners based on cost, speed, and service quality. Ensure optimal routes and transit times while minimizing costs for each shipment. 61 Parcel Logistics: Handle parcel logistics as required, coordinating with express shipping providers for smaller or time-sensitive shipments. 61 Customs Compliance: Ensure all shipments comply with customs regulations for both the export (China) and import (USA, EU) sides, preparing and submitting required documentation. 61 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Develop and maintain SOPs for ocean booking management, parcel booking management, and execution processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in logistics operations. 61 KPI Reporting: Generate and report on KPIs related to logistics volume, cost, delivery timelines, and method execution. Provide regular insights into logistics performance and identify opportunities for improvement. 61 Cost Analysis & Budgeting: Assist in monitoring and analyzing logistics costs, identifying opportunities to reduce costs without compromising service quality. Prepare and manage budgets for logistics operations. 61 Data Tracking & Reporting: Track and report on shipment statuses, delays, and cost analyses to improve decision-making and inform stakeholders. 61 Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution: Quickly address logistics issues or disruptions, coordinating with vendors, forwarders, and distribution centers to maintain smooth operations. 61 Performance Management: Regularly evaluate the performance of vendors and logistics providers, conducting reviews to ensure alignment with company standards and making improvements as necessary.
Qualifications 61 Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field. 61 5+ years of experience in logistics management, specifically with shipments from China to the USA and EU. 61 Proven track record in freight forwarding optimization and cost management. 61 Strong understanding of ocean freight logistics and parcel shipping requirements. 61 Excellent negotiation and communication skills. 61 Proficiency in logistics management software and tracking systems. 61 Fluency in English. Preferred Skills 61 Knowledge of distribution center operations in the USA and EU. 61 Familiarity with customs regulations for the USA and EU. 61 Experience in SOP development and KPI reporting for logistics operations. 61 Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
