Department: Wellington College China Central Office Supervisor: Head of Finance OBJECTIVES: This role takes overall responsibility of the CO entities’ statutory reports, WCC level treasury management, tax planning and compliance management. Reporting to the CO Head of Finance, the candidate must possess skills to work effectively, time-sensitively and professionally at all times. The professional image and conduct of this person is crucial in emulating the ethos of the setting. Willing to be hands-on, autonomous, determined and professional behaviour will be key features of the post-holder’s practice and these will be consistently demonstrated at all times. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with Central Office departments, school Bursars and Finance Managers to perform all duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Accounting Operation 1. Responsible for monthly closing, review of trail balance before closing, carry out reconciliation promptly. 2. Responsible for financial reporting to meet statutory requirements as well as support timely and accurate management reporting. 3. Act as the main contact of the CO entities for the auditors from the annual statutory audit. 4. Maintain good relationship with tax authorities, resolve tax related issues and ensure that all tax filings are prepared properly and submitted on time. 5. Conduct tax planning and optimization. 6. Ensures compliance with local financial and tax regulatory requirements. Carry out audits as needed for compliance. 7. Plan and coordinate group-level treasury activities. 8. Manage intra-group funding and cash flow optimization. 9. Manage all banking relationships, ensure that appropriate funding is available to the Group, and be responsible for the control of cash flows. 10. Carry out financial analysis as necessary.
Compliance 1. Regularly review and update finance policies. 2. Develop and implement internal control procedures to ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies. 3. Lead regular internal control inspection project, cooperate with external professional teams and school finance teams. 4. Develop internal systems and processes to minimise Group’s exposure to financial risk, counterparty risk, exchange risk, and other risks.
Others 1. Good at team management. 2. Lead Business insurance renewal. 3. ERP system maintenance and update coordinator. 4. Effective manage new projects from finance perspective. 5. Participate in any other projects or tasks relating to the continuous improvement, development or administration of the Group as required by Management Team and the Executive Board. 6. Actively participate in any related training held by the setting 7. Other duties as assigned by the Head of Finance.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree or above Major: Finance, accounting related subject, CICPA or any other equivalent qualifications will be privilege Language: Fluent written and spoken Chinese and English Working experience: more than 5 years’ experience in reporting or compliance role in a bilingual environment. Experience of accounting software is advantageous.
