What will you do: The trade compliance manager will be responsible for supporting the Regional Trade Compliance manager in APAC that runs the day-to-day operation including development, implementation, and operationalization of all aspects of trade compliance programs including risk assessment, training, and awareness, advisory, policies and procedures, monitoring, raising concerns and investigations. Collaborate with the various business contacts to achieve global defined KPI’s. Collaborate with Legal on internal and external audits in the region as needed (including Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia)Provide administrative support on the Export Controls & Sanctions incidents in a dynamic environment.Especially when China FD implements the EUS process. Lead the broker management programs in the countries of SEA sub-region. Optimize the internal risk management program by means of Data Analytics for post clearance checks and other trade compliance checks. Participate in and support strategic projects (including M&A transactions) with relevant compliance input, evaluation, and investigation (due diligence).Develop and maintain appropriate records and metrics for Trade Compliance program. Collaborate with other departments (e.g. Logistics & Distribution, Legal Compliance, Customer Support, Sales, IT, Internal Audit etc) to direct Trade Compliance issues to appropriate existing channels.. Qualifications: The Trade Compliance Manager will be a highly qualified professional with sound intellectual ability and demonstrable experience in managing compliance resources across multiple businesses and jurisdictions. The trade compliance manager should not only be a first-rate specialist but also possess the commercial savvy, appetite, and personality to become proactively involved in a wide range of business issues. The successful candidate will be a highly proficient professional who can inspire change across a geographically diverse team and further develop and upskill the team. The trade compliance manager will be a helping hand of the Sr. Manager Trade Compliance - APAC in leading compliance resources across multiple jurisdictions. An ideal candidate will be a team builder, executor, collaborator, and an agent of change and meets the following criteria: At least a bachelor’s degree (international trade, law, tax, business economics). 5 years of experience in Customs & Global Trade in a multinational environment (MNC, big 4 consultancy firm, law firm, government, etc.)Demonstrated experience in a multi-cultural, fast-paced environment. Capable of establishing and maintaining a network both within (matrix structure) as outside JCI, including customs agents, customs authorities. Demonstrated experience with US/EU Export Controls & Sanctions is a big plus. Fluent in English in written and oral.
