Position: Business Finance, Global Financial Markets (Snr. Assoc. ~ AVP, Finance)
Job Objective This job role is expected to work closely with Group Product Control (GPC), to exercise pertinent financial control and governance over the Global Financial Market (GFM) business in DBS China, and to support line manager to deliver GFM’s strategies and key priorities, as well as supporting BU in their financial needs. - Maintain a robust control framework for GFM business controls, reporting and new product initiatives. - Product and valuation control over GFM products. - Support GFM their business planning, performance measurements, expense control and track execution of approved plans. - Provision of relevant and value-added financials to enable GFM heads to make business decisions.
Principal Responsibilities - Support team head to strengthen the control framework of GFM business finance. - Ensure local product and valuation controls are performed on time, the end-to-end process and control is robust, and local governance is exercised in the performance of this task. - Ensure all other routine tasks and financials produced are accurate, relevant, and timely. Routine tasks include - MIS support covering month end closing, flash, quarterly reporting, yearly forecast and budget process. - Monthly review and analysis on China GFM functional P&L and balance sheet. - Responding to queries & requests from BU, group, other finance functions (Analytics/Corporate Treasury/Capital) and regulators on GFM business and products. - Substantiation of BU’s strategic cost savings projections. - Perform hedge accounting for GFM products including IRS and FX swaps etc. - Coordinate with local and Group Finance teams for the launching of new treasury products and business. - Support GFM related China regulatory reporting and audit report. - Support manager to partner GFM on business strategies and key priorities. - Project support including accounting standards, system testing, and new business initiatives for GFM. - Conduct deep dives and insightful financial analytics to highlight focus areas especially in P&L, sales margin, balance sheet, and capital optimization. - Participate in and help to drive team initiatives including digitization, visualization, and reduction of manual processes to create a more efficient workflow. - Provide input and participate in yearly ICAAP exercise and risk control assessment. - Ad hoc projects as assigned by manager.
Education and Relevant Experience - Degree holder or above. - Relevant experience of related to Treasury product control & Treasury business finance. - Robust experience of accounting and MI reporting. - Knowledge of valuation, taxation, accounting, risk calculation and regulatory reporting on Treasury products. - Knowledge of capital impact on Treasury products. - Strong responsibility and teamwork sprit. - Potent stakeholder management skills. - Strong risk awareness and control mindset. - Solid business sense and analytical skillset. - Proficiency in spoken and written English with good communication and presentation skills. - Independent, professional, self-initiated with deep collaboration, proactive, and able to deliver under pressure and tight deadlines. - Knowledge in banking end-to-end process flow, process improvement, or database and visualization tool is a plus.
