1. Utilize allocated resources efficiently to complete tasks on time and in cost effective manner.
2. Evaluate and analyze new and existing products for compliance with performance, quality, reliability and safety specifications and standards.
3. Perform tests and conduct product comparison testing in order to recommend product improvements, technology improvements or cost saving opportunities.
4. Provide corrective action recommendations for product improvement based on findings of testing and evaluation.
5. Generate accurate and thorough product evaluation reports, technical specifications and QA sheets.
6. Provide recommendations for engineering test equipment and supplies.
7. Provide technical expertise with accurate and timely data collection and testing.
8. Support product maintenance activities as required and directed by engineering management.
9. Support product test plan creation and test fixtures for the testing and evaluation of products.
10. Communicate and interface effectively with Product Engineer, Product Management, Procurement, Supplier Quality Engineers, Engineering Support, etc regarding all product portfolio matters.
11. Support technical documents review such as OIPM, catalog page, product nameplates and package labeling for content and safety information.
12. Resolve technical information enquiry and discrepancy problem, maintain technical information accuracy.
REQUIREMENTS
1. A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
2. 3+ years relevant work experience in a similar capacity is preferred. Electrical, mechanical or manufacturing engineering areas of study are preferred.
3. Diverse work experience background that is inclusive of all of the following areas: Laboratory, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Field Service is preferred
4. Must be detail oriented.
5. Redirect attention effectively to new and different priorities as directed by senior staff.
6. Proven engineering skills are required in product analysis and failures, technical problem solving, and multi-tasking.
7. Ability to procure, read, understand, and interpret technical reports, specifications and test data.
8. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of various hand tools, power tools and test equipment meters.
9. Require strong communication skills, willingness to work in a dynamic team environment, a healthy attitude and a keen sense of urgency in completing tasks on time.
10. Set a high personal integrity in conducting business with suppliers worldwide. Ensure compliance to the laws, business guidelines and ethical standards set by Grainger as well as local and the U.S. governments
11. Proficient in using Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
12. Able to travel 10-15% of time.
13. Ability to read and write English, average oral English skills.
