Job Summary This position will be involved into various R&D projects in the field of smart manufacturing and will contribute to the digitalization of Saint-Gobain Research Shanghai and different plants. 1. Design and develop Data and Analytics routines, machine learning/data mining methods to be applied mainly for process control and/or quality control. 2. Support of business/plants for transfer and success of optical and NDE (non-destructive evaluation) inspection systems 3. Identify potential patentable development and develop technologies resulting in patents.
Principal Accountabilities (% of time, Responsibility) 1. Strictly follow company EHS & 5S policies and regulations. Follow R&D personnel's individual EHS responsibilities listed in 'EHS Responsibilities Management Program'. (5%) 2. Develop and maintain smart manufacturing solutions, data analysis routines and machine learning/data mining methods to be used in measurement projects/big data applications for process control and/or quality control in SG plants and BU R&D activities (20%) 3. Work closely with BU R&D and SG plants in China to get familiar with the SG products and their production process, quality control requirement including measurement systems. Support the plants in Smart manufacturing/I4.0 projects and gather knowledge in such solution (advantages and drawbacks). (20%) 4. Develop and maintain different APPs and GUIs, for the implementation and deployment of developed data/image analysis algorithms. (20%) 5. Develop and maintain NDE and optical inspection systems to be used in quality control for different plants of Saint-Gobain in China (glass for automotive, abrasives, plastics, and ceramics). (20%) 6. Initiate nurturing/exploratory projects to develop innovative solutions which will prepare the future of mobility. (10%) 7. Other task assigned by supervisor (5%)
Qualifications 1. Master degree or above, with major in data science, computer science or relevant majors 2. Proficiency in programing with Python, familiar with other languages such as JavaScript and C++ is preferred. 3. Good knowledge in statistics, machine learning and machine vision, 4. Familiar with GUI and software development with different tools such as QT, familiar with web APP development is preferred. 5. Experience with database is preferred. 6. Interests for fundamental research and product development, passion for high deliverables, openness to multi-culture environment. 7. Fluent English.
