The Project Engineer is responsible for the design, estimate, planning, and delivery of gas transmission projects and associated field service activities. Supporting the Lead Project Engineer to meet business objectives and deputising in their absence. This position is based in Shanghai China, with requirements to travel throughout country. In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are: Principal Accountabilities 61 Ensuring projects comply with standards and specifications 61 Estimating and tender/quotation submission 61 Liaison with client/stakeholders 61 Project planning and equipment specifications for procurement 61 Cost control of projects including interim/ final account review 61 Adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and other National Standards 61 Work with Product Specialists, Business Development and Engineering to identify and deliver value added products and services based on market, sector, and customer trends. 61 Provide engineering input including concept design and drawings, BOM structures, GA drawings, P&ID’s, O&M manuals, manufacturing drawings and compilation of technical training programs. 61 Support the regional sales, service and manufacturing teams. 61 Assist the sales team with producing tenders including gathering accurate costs for the system components. Key Tasks 61 Customer contract review to ensure programme can be met, technical details and payment terms are acceptable 61 Assist in the production of quotations and issue to client with clarifications on specifications and T&C’s 61 Produce data sheet, schematic and initial tender design submissions 61 Work with PEG to design, estimate, plan and control industrial fluid and industrial gas projects. 61 Work with the core project functions of manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and finance to deliver projects on time, in full, and on budget. 61 Supporting the Lead Project engineer to meet business objectives and deputising in their absence. 61 Attend design meetings with client as and when required 61 Carry out design risk assessment of product proposed 61 Assist Design of electrical installation 61 Assist Design of control system 61 Assist Design of mechanical process diagram 61 Assist Design of Mechanical Layout 61 Carry out site survey and production of RAMS for site activities 61 Check and approve drawings prior to client issue 61 Organise with Engineering Manager planning/programming of projects. 61 Take responsibility for project control including: 61 Requests for information 61 Variations 61 Delays 61 Preparation of O & M manuals. 61 Instruct Engineering Manager to raise monthly claims/invoices 61 Check project costing on regular basis to monitor financial progress of job and review close out report and implement recommendations on future projects 61 Monitor physical progress and quality of projects during manufacture 61 Factory Testing support as and when required with a minimum of 10% of projects to identify design issues and improvements 61 Site Commissioning support as and when required with a minimum of 10% of projects to identify design issues and improvements 61 Supervise site installations as and when required with a minimum of 10% of projects to identify design issues and improvements 61 Provide support and mentoring to field service administrators and engineers. 61 Provide telephone technical support to client’s field service engineers. Role Requirements 61 Core Engineering degree in a related discipline; mechanical, design, controls, etc. 61 Related project management experience in industrial applications such as, mining, metal and non-metals manufacturing, oil and gas gas production, etc 61 10+ years’ project and team management skills 61 Ability to work on own initiative but also be a key member of a team 61 Proven time management capability 61 Computer literate including Microsoft Office 61 Auto CAD and Solid Works competence 61 Customer service experience
