Major tasks: The Circular and New Material Sourcing Manager is responsible to scout regional sourcing markets for new raw materials & alternatives, to develop supplier, extract value out of the process chain, challenge raw material specification and optimize sourcing processes to ensure that R&D projects move into scale-up production. Development and implementation of sourcing strategies for new raw materials to establish supply chain and enable scale up production in alignment with the overall strategy of Covestro and Procurement. Preparation, negotiation and finalization of supply contracts for new raw materials with relevant development aspects Ensure implementation of quality, sustainability, safety and compliance in sourcing and contracting. Lead and coordinate regional circular economy activities to develop waste-based and bio-based sourcing strategies, assess sourcing markets and develop potential supplier while considering technical feasibility and commercial criteria to support business entity and company targets. Manage and foster collaboration with selected suppliers to leverage on innovation and identify joint development initiatives. Own raw material processes in Product-Lifecycle-Management to support raw material registration and portfolio management. Lead regional R&D Sourcing Community and manage the interface to all internal stakeholder such as R&D, Global Product Management, HSEQ, Circular Economy Program, New Technology Team and Global Sourcing Team Value added: Establish and foster a new and more open innovation approach for raw materials to connect supplier capabilities with business entity needs with more holistic and unconstrained ideation Build on sourcing strategy development to consider commercial and technical requirements with professional supply contract design to enable scale-up and competitive costs, effective risk management and supplier relationship management. Regional sourcing and project responsibility for key raw materials and intermediates petro-, bio-, waste-based) Work relations: Internal: Global and Regional R&D and Application Department, New Technology and Innovation Team, Circular Economy Team, Global Product Management, Technical Product Management, Procurement Sub Categories and Sourcing Team, Global and Regional R&D Sourcing Community, HSEQ/PSRA External: Existing and potential supplier, sustainability and innovation association and consulting, material and industry experts Qualifications: Minimum bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or similar education Minimum 3 years working experience in Polyurethanes and/or Coatings, Adhesives & Specialties relevant industries Knowledge / bachelor in business administration would be beneficial Working experience in procurement especially raw materials, intermediates or equivalent function with basic negotiation skills Familiar with raw material market and supplier Good intercultural and interpersonal skills Very good communication, presentation and problem solving skills Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage virtual team environment Good command of spoken and written English, Strong initiative and self-motivation
