Responsibilities: - TP: core position to review and report TP positions of all China legal entities. Coordinate 10+ TPDs’ preparation, review, comment and confirms. Monitor and identify the necessities of TP adjustments within the group. - Compliance: Mainly responsible for the preparation and filings of one core company’s tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness; - Reporting: Prepare one core legal entity’s tax provisions, TP and tax related disclosures for financial statements. Review sone of the remote sites’ reporting. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of tax-related matters; - Risk Management: Identify and mitigate tax risks of remote sites through tax health checks, and follow up the corrections. - Audit defense: Anticipate audits and handle the inquiries from tax authorities, and to maintain good relationship with them; - Advisory: Provide tax advice to senior management or business teams on tax implications of business decisions and transactions; - Tax Planning and Strategy: Contribute and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax laws; - Training: Initiate the tax compliance trainings for business and functional stakeholders; - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Anticipate projects, work closely with other departments, such as finance, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment on tax-related matters; - Leadership: no direct reporting sub-boardings, but to educate and support junior staff in the tax team when applicable.
Requirements: - 10+ years working experience - Tax experience within Big 4 firms and/or with multi-national company and/or tax bureau experience are pluses. - Accounting or taxation degree ( CTA, CPA, ACCA etc) is highly preferred - Rich experience and solid knowledge on CIT, VAT, WHT, IIT, and other taxes - Good at PE issues, M&A related tax matters, cross-board payments will be highly preferred - Sound knowledge of local and international tax and transfer pricing regulations - Strong experience at dealing with tax and fiscal authorities, excellent negotiations skills - Good collaboration with external advisors were necessary - Comfortable in working in cross cultural environment, multi-disciplinary teams - Openness to share experience and expertise within tax team of Evonik Greater China - Good written (presentation written skills) and spoken communication in both Mandarin and English - Proficient in data analysis and presentation, with great interest and diligent to learn advanced IT technology to better serve day-to-day tax work. - Knowledge of Office 365 apps is mandatory, experience in SAP is preferred - Outstanding interpersonal and influence skills when deal with external authorities, customers, professionals. - Stakeholder (including internal and external contacts) oriented. - Strong problem solving skills and analytical skills required. - Strong skills to accurately and timely catch the key points. - Innovative thinking is required for developing constructive tax advice to business and service functions.
